There is a generous selection of restaurants on Bonaire, with ample opportunity for some culinary treats. Kralendijk offers more than 40 restaurants if you count those in hotels, which are open to non-residents.
Nearly every type of cuisine imaginable is represented on Bonaire. From fancy restaurants with ultra-fine dishes to the simple “Italian.” It is also very worthwhile visiting Rincon, where many of the cozy eateries feature traditional Bonairean specialties on their menus.
Along with traditional restaurants, you can of course also find relaxed eateries with outside seating, where you can order a good and affordable meal.
Bonaire even has two American food chains, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Subway.
For the people of Bonaire, the Snèk (snack) is important not only for an enjoyable snack, it is also an important place for Bonaireans to go to meet. For a snack or quick bite, you will find items here such as pastechi (pasties with meat, fish, chicken, or cheese fillings) and empaná (a pastry made of corn flour with meat filling).
